Text Messaging System
The development of a text messaging system that allows the pantry to send automated reminders for appointment times and required documentation.
Because of the outcomes of text reminders on client preparedness for our CARES Programs, the rate of clients failing to show up for an appointment was reduced by 26%.
As a result of the SMS project, the time spent on reminder phone calls has been reduced from an hour and a quarter per week to just 4 minutes. Per year, this is a total reduction of over 320 hours. In addition to time savings, this new technology keeps our phone line clear for clients to get through to our receptionist and receive immediate attention.
