EVALUATION CRITERIA
GENERAL
- Must be a nonprofit organization tax-exempt under IRC section 501(c)(3) and classified as a public charity under IRC section 509(a)(1), 509(a)(2), or 509(a)(3)(Type I)
- Operates within the Greater Chicago area
- A significant portion of the organization’s programing addresses one or more of the Foundation’s core cause areas

- Willingness to build a trusting relationship with an engaged funder
- Executive Director or Chief Executive Officer demonstrates strong leadership and management qualities
- Board of directors has advisory experience, represents diverse and relevant skillsets
