OUR GIVING

STRATEGY

We believe that by combining technology with the necessary funding and expertise, we can enable organizations to be more effective, more efficient and more sustainable… in turn allowing them to do more good.

As such, we focus our grant making on projects that leverage technology to help improve operations and enhance the organization’s ability to deliver on its mission.

Platform Projects

Large-scale collaborative projects aiming to change the way current systems work

Impact Projects

Longer-term technology projects in the early/pilot phase with scalable potential to make a significant impact on the target population

Technology Grants

Yearly grants provided to fund technology investments with the goal of making the grantee organizations more effective, efficient and/or sustainable

General Giving

Unrestricted giving made at the discretion of the Thierer Family in order to support organizations doing important work

The Thierer Family Foundation looks to fund projects that are:

Impactful

Has a significant impact on the organization and/or their ability to deliver on their mission

Innovative

Leverages a forward-thinking approach that provides a creative solution to the challenge

Strategic

Leverages a big picture view of the problem / solution and features a well-defined business plan to ensure success

Sustainable

Able to be self-supported by the organization beyond the Impact Project timeline

While not required, we grant preference to projects that feature collaboration between multiple organizations.

Proposals may include new projects, ongoing projects, or expansions of existing projects.

The number of grants and total amount awarded will vary based on the number, nature, and merit of applications received.
