While not required, we grant preference to projects that feature collaboration between multiple organizations.
Proposals may include new projects, ongoing projects, or expansions of existing projects.
The number of grants and total amount awarded will vary based on the number, nature, and merit of applications received.

Only charitable organizations that are tax-exempt under IRC section 501(c)(3) and classified as a public charity under IRC section 509(a)(1), 509(a)(2), or 509(a)(3)(Type I) are eligible for Impact Project Grant funding.
We give highest priority to organizations and projects that serve the Greater Chicago area and fall within one or more of our focus areas.
Proposed projects must have a tangible and/or measurable outcome.
A project may only be submitted for consideration one time unless requested by the Foundation.
Grant requests for unrestricted funds, loans, endowments, religious activities, scholarships, individuals, or lobbying activities will not be considered for Impact Project Grants.

We do this by collaborating with nonprofit organizations that are working to break the cycle of poverty within the city of Chicago and strategically funding technology projects through our Impact Projects and Technology Grants.
